Demetria Washington

Double gold medalist at 2001 World university Games (400m &4x400m); Two-time NCAA Indoor 400m Champ ('00, '01); 2002 NCAA Indoor 4x400m Relay Champion; 2002 NCAA Indoor 400m Runner-up Washington had a tremendous season in 2001, winning her first inividual medal at the World University Games in China. Washington also won gold as the second leg of the U.S. 4x400m relay squad. A busy summer for Washington in 2001 culminated at the World University Games. She began her outdoor season as the runner-up at the NCAA Outdoor Championships 400m. She then competed at the USA Outdoor Champs, where she was fourth in the final (51.70) the daughter of an Army drill sergeant who impressed upon her the value of time, Washington is notoriously prompt or 15 minutes early for every practice since she knew she would be competing in track for college, Washington went out for the cheerleading team as a HS senior, making the football and basketball cheer squads says she really enjoyed the experience loves shoe shopping is an exercise science major at South Carolina.

2002: Ran anchor-leg on 4x400m relay team that won NCAA Indoors runner-up at NCAA Indoors 400m (52.410 had 4 of 5 fastest indoor times by an American.

2001: Won gold at World University games 400m (51.22) ran personal best (51.50)4th in 400m semis at World Champs (51.26) ranked#5 in U.S. by T&FN best of 51.05. 

2000: 7th in 400m semis at U.S. Olympics Trials(52.10) 6th in 200m heat at U.S. Olympic Trials (23.65) won NCAA Indoors 400m won NCAA Outdoors 400m
4th at SEC Outdoors 200m bests of 23.43 and 51.71.

1999: 7th in 400m semis at USA Outdoors 7th at NCAA Outdoos 400m 3rd at SEC Outdoors 400m 7th at SEC Outdoors 200m bests of 23.58 and 52.57.

1998: Bronze medalist at World Juniors 4x400m 3rd at USA Juniors 400m best of 12.03, 24.19 and 53.65
